Green wood density in pounds per cubic foot by species, plus palm trunk weights per foot, used to size tree-removal picks over structures.
This is the exact table the Crane Cost Estimator runs on. Cite it as: Antero Trail, "Green log weights by species", anterotrail.com/tools/reference/tree-green-weights. Primary sources are listed with each value and at the bottom of the page.
Green-wood weights for the tree_removal_over_structure crane scenario (PRP-CALC-2). Two mechanisms: (1) 'species_rows' + 'class_defaults' give GREEN density in lb/ft3 for solid-wood trees (hardwood/softwood) - the heaviest pick is a trunk cylinder = pi*(dia/2)^2*len*density; (2) 'palm_rows' give lb per TRUNK-FOOT for palms (density-by-cylinder does not apply - palm trunk mass is dominated by water-heavy fibrous tissue, so the trade weighs palms per trunk-foot). All figures are GREEN/freshly-felled (storm trees are green); seasoned wood is much lighter but must never be assumed. Single-source values carry single_source_flag and surface on output.
