Packaged rooftop unit (RTU) weights by tonnage

Weight bands for packaged rooftop HVAC units by cooling tonnage, from manufacturer spec sheets, used to derive pick weight when the data plate is not available.

This is the exact table the Crane Cost Estimator runs on. Cite it as: Antero Trail, "Packaged rooftop unit (RTU) weights by tonnage", anterotrail.com/tools/reference/rtu-weights. Primary sources are listed with each value and at the bottom of the page.

Packaged-RTU operating weights by nominal cooling tonnage band, for crane sizing (PRP-CALC-1 S8.2.1). All weights text-extracted from the cited manufacturer product-data PDFs (pdftotext), never estimated. weight_low_lb/weight_high_lb are the lowest and highest OPERATING (manufacturer 'net'/'std unit'/'base unit operating') weights documented in each band; shipping weights run ~5-15% higher where published. Band highs are conservative for sizing: the 6-12.5t high (2,187 lb) is the Trane Precedent High-Efficiency 12.5t heat pump (DHJ150, 15-25t cabinet) - typical std-efficiency 12.5t gas/electric units run 1,100-1,400 lb; the 15-27.5t high (2,640 lb) is the Carrier 48TC*30 base operating weight before option adders (economizer +195 lb, power exhaust +125 lb, gas heat +85-113 lb per 48TC-16PD); the 30-50t high (8,900 lb) is a Trane IntelliPak 50t SF airfoil-fan unit with exhaust fans, economizer, and max motors (±5% per Trane note). The derivation layer adds a stated rigging allowance on top of weight_high_lb; it does not interpolate within bands.
